Thank you for purchasing from Melton Industries. Our online store provides customers with convenient access to OEM diesel engine parts, replacement components, engines, and related products.
This Online Store Purchase Policy applies to purchases made through Meltons.com. By placing an order through our online store, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and agree to this Online Store Purchase Policy and our applicable Return Policy and other terms referenced herein.
Order Acceptance
Submitting an order through Meltons.com does not constitute final acceptance of the order by Melton Industries.
All orders are subject to review and acceptance, including verification of product availability, pricing, payment information, shipping information, and other order details.
Melton Industries reserves the right to place an order on hold, request additional information, limit quantities, or cancel an order when necessary. If an order is canceled after payment has been processed, the applicable amount will be refunded to the original payment method.
An automated order confirmation indicates that we have received your order. It does not necessarily mean that the order has been accepted, processed, or shipped.
Payment & Order Verification
All orders are subject to payment authorization and verification. For certain orders, Melton Industries may request additional information to verify the purchaser, billing information, shipping destination, end user, or intended use before processing the order.
Orders that cannot be reasonably verified, appear inconsistent with the information provided, or present an elevated risk of fraud, unauthorized resale, or unauthorized export may be placed on hold or canceled.
Melton Industries reserves the right to require an alternative payment method, including wire transfer, for certain high-value, international, special-order, or freight shipments.
Pricing & Website Errors
Melton Industries makes reasonable efforts to maintain accurate pricing, product descriptions, specifications, availability information, and other content on our website. However, errors may occasionally occur.
Prices and product information are subject to change without notice.
In the event of an incorrect price, product description, shipping charge, specification, availability status, typographical error, or other website error, Melton Industries reserves the right to correct the information and, when appropriate, cancel or modify the affected order.
If an order is affected by a material pricing or product information error, we may contact the customer before processing the order.
Melton Industries is not obligated to fulfill an order at an incorrect price resulting from a typographical, technical, data-entry, manufacturer, supplier, or website error.
Replacement Engine Identification Responsibility
For purchases of replacement engines, long blocks, short blocks, or other replacement engine system, accurate identification of the customer’s existing core engine is required to determine the appropriate replacement options. The customer is responsible for providing Melton Industries with complete and accurate engine identification information; including the engine manufacturer, model, serial number, specification number, arrangement number, application information, and any other identifying information requested by Melton Industries.
Melton Industries will use the information provided by the customer, together with applicable OEM resources, to identify available replacement engine, long block, or short block options.
Replacement recommendations are dependent upon the accuracy and completeness of the information provided by the customer. Melton Industries cannot be responsible for an incorrect replacement recommendation resulting from inaccurate, incomplete, illegible, or omitted engine or application information supplied by the customer.
Customers should not rely solely upon model numbers, photographs, equipment information, horsepower rating, or a partial engine model number when purchasing a replacement engine, long block, or short block. Engines that appear similar may have significant differences in configuration, components, emissions certification, electronics, mounting arrangements, accessories, or application requirements.
When requested, the customer is responsible for providing clear photographs of the engine identification plate, serial number, existing engine, and other components necessary to assist with proper identification.
Final responsibility for confirming that all engine identification information provided to Melton Industries is accurate rests with the customer. Melton Industries will use the information provided and available OEM resources to determine the appropriate replacement options; however, any recommendation is based upon the accuracy of the information supplied by the customer.
Product Availability
Products displayed on Meltons.com are not guaranteed to be physically in stock at Melton Industries at the time an order is placed.
Products may be:
- Stocked at Melton Industries
- Available from the manufacturer
- Available through an authorized supplier or distribution center
- Shipped directly from the manufacturer or supplier
- Temporarily backordered
- Subject to manufacturer lead times
Inventory and availability can change without notice.
If an ordered product is unavailable, backordered, discontinued, or subject to an extended lead time, Melton Industries will make reasonable efforts to notify the customer.
Order Processing
Orders are generally processed during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
Orders placed after normal business hours, on weekends, or on holidays will generally begin processing on the next business day.
Processing time is separate from shipping transit time.
Additional processing time may be required for manufacturer-sourced products, special-order items, large orders, freight shipments, product verification, payment verification, or other circumstances.
Order Changes & Cancellations
Requests to modify or cancel an order should be made as soon as possible. An order cannot be guaranteed to be changed or canceled once processing has begun.
Products that have already shipped, been ordered from a manufacturer or supplier, entered production, or been specially ordered for the customer may not be cancelable or may be subject to cancellation, restocking, freight, or other charges.
When Will My Parts Ship?
Shipping time depends primarily on product availability and the location from which the product is being fulfilled.
In-stock products are generally processed for shipment as quickly as reasonably possible, usually within 1-2 business days.
Manufacturer or supplier-stocked products may require additional processing time before shipment.
Backordered, specialty, or special-order products may have extended lead times based upon manufacturer availability.
Any availability, processing, shipment, or delivery date provided by Melton Industries is an estimate only and is not a guaranteed delivery date.
Customers with an urgent requirement or required delivery date should contact Melton Industries before placing an order so that current product availability can be verified.
Customers should not schedule technicians, installation, equipment downtime, vessel service, field service, or other work based solely upon an estimated shipping or delivery date.
Where We Ship
Melton Industries ships products throughout the United States to verifiable commercial and residential addresses.
International shipping may be available for certain products and destinations. International customers should contact Melton Industries before placing an order to confirm shipping availability, product restrictions, and applicable export requirements.
Certain products may be subject to manufacturer, carrier, export, or destination restrictions.
Shipping Address Restrictions
To help protect against fraud, shipping loss, unauthorized resale, and unauthorized export, Melton Industries ships orders only to verified residential or commercial addresses associated with the customer or end user.
Melton Industries does not ship orders to UPS Store locations, package receiving services, third-party freight forwarders, mail forwarding services, export forwarding companies, or similar third-party receiving locations unless specifically approved in advance by Melton Industries.
Melton Industries reserves the right to verify a shipping address before processing an order. Orders submitted with a restricted, incomplete, or unverifiable shipping address may be placed on hold or canceled and refunded.
Shipping Methods
Melton Industries selects shipping methods based on the product’s size, weight, value, destination, and customer-selected service when applicable.
Shipping carriers may include:
- UPS
- FedEx
- USPS
- Common carrier / LTL freight
- Other qualified transportation providers when appropriate
Not all shipping methods are available for every product or destination.
Large engines, generators, heavy components, oversized products, and palletized shipments may require commercial or LTL freight service.
Expedited Shipping
Expedited shipping may be available for certain products and destinations.
Expedited shipping refers to carrier transit time after the order has shipped. It does not guarantee that an item is currently in stock or reduce manufacturer, supplier, or order processing lead times.
For time-sensitive orders, customers should contact Melton Industries before ordering to verify current availability and determine whether expedited shipment is possible.
Shipping Charges
Shipping and handling charges are determined based on factors including product size, weight, destination, carrier, and selected shipping method.
Certain oversized, heavy, hazardous, or freight products may require additional shipping charges that cannot be accurately calculated during online checkout.
If additional freight or shipping charges are required, Melton Industries may contact the customer before processing or shipping the order.
Multiple Shipments
Orders containing multiple products may ship separately depending on inventory availability and fulfillment location.
Products may ship from Melton Industries, a manufacturer, supplier, or distribution facility.
As a result, customers may receive multiple packages, deliveries, and tracking numbers for a single order.
Tracking Information
Tracking information will be provided when available after an order has been processed for shipment.
Please allow sufficient time for the carrier’s tracking system to update after tracking information has been issued.
Delivery Times
Carrier transit and delivery times are estimates and begin after the order has been shipped.
Melton Industries cannot guarantee carrier delivery dates and is not responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including carrier delays, weather, natural disasters, transportation interruptions, labor disruptions, incorrect delivery information, manufacturer delays, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Freight Deliveries
Engines, generators, and other large or heavy products may be shipped using commercial freight carriers.
Unless otherwise arranged, someone may be required to be available to receive and inspect the shipment.
Additional services including residential delivery, liftgate service, limited-access delivery, redelivery, or inside delivery may result in additional charges.
Customers should carefully inspect freight shipments for visible damage before accepting delivery whenever possible. Signing a freight delivery receipt without noting visible damage may affect the ability to file a freight damage claim. If significant visible damage is present, customers should contact Melton Industries before refusing the shipment whenever reasonably possible.
Any visible damage should be clearly noted on the carrier’s delivery receipt before signing for the shipment.
Shipping Damage & Shortages
Shipping damage, shortages, or shipment discrepancies should be reported to Melton Industries within five (5) business days of delivery. Failure to promptly report shipping damage or retain the original packaging may affect our ability to pursue a carrier claim.
If a product or package arrives damaged, please retain the product, shipping carton, pallet, packaging, and all packing materials and contact Melton Industries as soon as possible.
Photographs of the packaging, shipping label, and damaged product may be required to assist with a carrier claim.
Please do not discard damaged products, packaging, pallets, or shipping materials until the matter has been reviewed.
Incorrect Shipping Information
Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate billing and shipping information.
Additional shipping costs resulting from an incorrect or incomplete address, address correction, refused shipment, unsuccessful delivery attempt, redelivery, or other customer-provided shipping error may be the responsibility of the customer.
Special-Order & Manufacturer-Direct Products
Certain OEM parts and specialty products may be ordered specifically for the customer or shipped directly from the manufacturer or supplier.
These products may be subject to additional manufacturer policies, extended lead times, cancellation restrictions, or return restrictions.
Customers should review our Return Policy before ordering or contact Melton Industries with questions regarding the return eligibility of a particular product.
